Five Doves Investor Tribe 2.0
How to go from watching HGTV to flipping properties
- Return on Investment (ROI)
- Buy a very specific real estate investment
Hey everyone is Julian McClurkin. Welcome to another episode of stories of Tribe investing. Today we interview Faith Jones find out how this stay at home mother of five is now a house flipper.
Hey, Faith, how are you doing?
Doing good. How are you?
I'm doing well. Where are you from?
I'm from the Atlanta, Georgia area. I have been a stay at home mom for almost 12 years now.
How many children?
Five children and we've homeschooled. So I’ve been busy.
What got you in interested in investing?
Always watched shows on HGTV like Flip or Flop and things like that. But I never thought I never thought that would be me. But I think like a lot of people in the last couple of years, you know, you just start thinking, Okay, well, what if I stop thinking about all that? What if we could?
How did you go from watching HGTV to wanting to start investing?
When you watch HGTV, you know, you see the money that's going to be required. And as I say, I've been you know, stay at home mom for 12 years. So that source of extra income I did not have. So as I was working with our coaching group she encouraged us to just keep moving forward. They say a good deal will find the money. And so just as I began to find and look for deals, I knew that I was going to need people to help me to actually be able to push the button and get started.
Tell me about your knowledge of Tribevest, like how did you come to learn about them?
Join the coaching program, a coach and mentorship program and in the program. She had mentioned that she had heard of Tribevest, so I started looking into it because I was still trying to figure out how I was going to make this work, which read to us it was the ability to be able to bring a group of people together, you know, because sometimes you may not have one person able to do it all and also being able to protect everyone involved know by forming our own LLC.
What's your tribe's name?
Five Doves Properties, LLC.
What’s it mean?
So the Five Doves are my five kids.
Beautiful. I love that. Have you guys actually pulled the trigger and invested in anything yet?
Yes. So we're right now we're working on our project. We have purchased a 1925 farmhouse.
Is everybody like an equal partner in the deal?
Actually, no. So everybody's getting the same percentage but because of the way Tribevest is able to set up there's one person who's able to do more. Yeah, and another person who really wanted to help but you know, they didn't have the full amount that was needed. So they were each able to invest based on what they were able to contribute.
Who’s in your tribe? Family or friends?
So it's actually a combination. One is a family member. And then the other is actually a lady that I've never actually met in person.
We, we've just met through our coaching.
So it sounds like you're doing a lot of work. And you're probably picking out materials and everything like that.
Yes. So they are silent partners. But when it comes to the actual day to day, getting the house renovated. I'm the one dealing with contractors.
Yes, yes. So you're doing what I want to do when I grow up. What are the next steps after this house has actually completed and you get it sold? Are you planning on investing more? What's what is it? What's in your future?
We're definitely planning to do more investing in the future. This house will be putting it on the market hopefully by the end of this year. And I actually have already started looking for the next property so I actually have started the second Tribe on Friday. There are no members yet. I've just got it set up.
All right. So if you guys want to join Six Doves, LLC faith is recruiting looking for you. Thanks so much for your time. We really appreciate it. See you next Tribe.
Huge thank you to faith Jones. And look, if you're looking to start your own tribe, maybe it's five six doves, 1000 doves, LLC, whatever it is you can go over to tribevest.com and start one today.
